Dr. Balal Khalilzadeh

Dr. Khalilzadeh got his PhD in medical nanotechnology from Tabriz University of Medical Sciences at 2016 and immediately after he joined Stem Cell Research Center (SCRC). He enjoys researching on early detection and diagnosis of silent diseases like most type of malignant tumors and cancers as well as neurodegenerative diseases by implementing electrochemical and electrochemiluminescence-based biosensors. His extreme ambition is integration of new generation of highly sensitive and nanomaterial-based platforms for super amplification of produced signals in which detection of minor target molecules are enabled. Importantly, his primarily research is focused on the stem cells, and their use in early detection of malignancies. At present, he is pursuing a project for detection and quantification of cancerous stem cells in which the final goal is integration of nanomaterial-based biosensors with microfluidics and introducing a hyphenated method for online monitoring of circulating tumor cells in the peripheral blood.
